After a number of years running self coached, I thought it was time to look for some structure and a fresh approach, as no longer getting any younger and as a V50 athlete - PB's are not likely to just drop in my lap.
I spent some time looking and asking who other athletes were involved with and watching their progress and eventually contacted Steve at 360 Performance coaching to see what he & the team could offer.
I have been lucky enough to suffer from few injuries and apart from a broken foot, have not had too much time out of the sport so we started looking at the areas that I have avoided ( speed work / intervals ) and started setting some sessions that involved this. I would be lying if I had said they had become "fun" but certainly nice to try something new and I could see the benefits from having a "plan" to follow weekly, rather than go with what I felt.
Any aches/niggles/not feeling it days dealt with in a proactive manner and plans adjusted at short notice to fit around work/life as required and I have really enjoyed having the structure in place to enable me to just run and not overthink anything. I might even have started to enjoy mile reps....
Hows it going - well, I managed to get a championship entry for London in 2025, the first time since 2021 and ended the year as British Masters M50 Champion, which would not have happened if I had not followed the training and race plan.
So I would say - if you're considering the next step in your athletics journey, however long you have been running - go for it, you wont be disappointed.
I have been working with Mike for the last 6 months. Mike has given me a plan to follow and structure to my running i was lacking. Since working with him I have got that elusive sub 30 min 5km and a 10km pb plus 11 course PBs! He has helped me find my confidence again in my running and looking forward to chasing more PBs

I’ve been working with Mike for a year now, and I can honestly say it’s been a game-changer. I’m not the easiest person to coach—I’m always asking for more, constantly messaging with questions, and pushing for extra sessions. But Mike never loses patience. He always takes the time to explain the reasoning behind his plans, making sure I train smart, not just hard.
